Dr. Marisa Porges, author of What Girls Need: How to Raise Bold, Courageous, and Resilient Women, is a seasoned executive known for her work on leadership, gender, education and national security. Career highlights include flying jets off carriers in the U.S. Navy, serving as a counterterrorism expert in Afghanistan, interviewing Al Qaeda terrorists in the Middle East, working as a senior advisor in the Obama White House and running a renowned all-girls school. Passionate about preparing executives to succeed in today’s fast-paced, uncertain world and helping women nurture critical leadership skills, she speaks to and consults with audiences worldwide, sharing research and lessons learned from leading high-impact teams in the military, government and non-profit sector. Marisa lives in Philadelphia, with her husband, two children and dog.
